Prayer

A Prayer for Anxiety

Bring racing thoughts and an uncertain future to God.

A quiet place prepared for prayer

You do not need to calm yourself perfectly before you pray. Bring the anxious moment as it is.

A prayer

God, my thoughts are moving faster than I can manage. I am trying to solve tomorrow before it arrives, and my body feels the weight of possibilities I cannot control. Meet me here without shame.

Help me name what is mine to do today and release what is beyond me. Give me wisdom for one next step, courage to ask for help, and enough peace to rest for this moment. Keep my mind near what is true, honorable, and life-giving. Amen.

Stay with the passage

Read Philippians 4:6-9 in its full paragraph. Notice that prayer, thanksgiving, attention, and practiced obedience belong together. The passage offers a direction for anxious attention; it does not condemn a person for experiencing anxiety.

Reflect gently

  • What concern can you name in one sentence?
  • What is one action you can take today?
