Prayer

A Prayer to Release Tomorrow to God

Entrust tomorrow's work, decisions, and relationships to God.

A quiet branch outlined against fading evening light

Entrust tomorrow's work, decisions, and relationships to God before the day arrives.

Pray tonight

Father, tomorrow is already filling my thoughts. I bring you its meetings, responsibilities, needs, possibilities, and uncertainties. Show me what preparation belongs to tonight, and keep preparation from becoming an attempt to control every outcome. I entrust the people I will meet and the decisions I will face to your wisdom. Give me enough courage for the next step when it arrives, not imaginary strength for every possible future at once. Help me receive this night's limits as a gift. Tomorrow will have its own work and its own grace. Keep me faithful in the present and willing to ask for help. Amen.

Read and reflect

Read Matthew 6:25-34 in BibleAlong's Scripture reader. Notice the movement of the whole passage before returning to the concern you named in prayer. Let the biblical context guide your trust rather than treating one line as a guarantee.

Reflect before resting

  • What am I ready to place in God's care tonight?
